Q1: Describe your ideal SAP role?
An ideal SAP role would be to function as an SAP Manager/Lead/Architect in a global SAP implementation or a global SAP roll-out of a standard template. It shall enable me to use my technical expertise to design, architect and provide governance of solutions based upon SAP NetWeaver technologies like SAP PI/PO and SAP MDM/MDG. Due to my experience of leading and managing SAP development teams of Tier 1 global consultancies, I can function as an SAP Manager/Lead.
Due to my experience of working in a multicultural environment in locations across 4 continents (Europe, North America, Asia and Australasia), I would be at ease in travelling to and working in different countries. My experience of working in a multi-vendor project environment should also be useful.
I can also function as an SAP Client Engagement Manager in managing relationship and providing expertise to the end client or as an SAP Competency Lead in driving competency related activities in an SAP CoE.
Q2: Which role would suit you best - a manager, team member or soloist? Please explain why?
The role of SAP Manager/Lead/Architect would suit me best. It is because of past experience as SAP Manager/Lead at onsite/offshore in global SAP implementations and roll-outs for Fortune 500 clients of Tier 1 global consultancies. I can also function as a soloist, for example, as an SAP Architect/Specialist, like in a recent role for a world leader in mining, where my primary job responsibilities were governance, strategy, high level architecture design and ensuring compliance of technical artifacts (by remote teams of Tier 1 vendors) to standards and guidelines, which I updated regularly.
Q3: What are your greatest strengths when working in SAP?
- experience of 12+ years in SAP NetWeaver in global SAP implementations and SAP roll-outs for renowned clients across industry domains and geographies
- experience in multiple modules of SAP NetWeaver (XI/PI/PO, MDM, MII, Portal)
- experience as SAP Integration Manager/Lead/Architect at Tier 1 global consultancies and leading end clients of SAP
- experience of interacting with stakeholders at all levels in SAP projects. These include Executive Vice Presidents, Directors, Senior Managers, Global Application Integration Lead, Change Advisory Board (CAB), Project/Delivery Managers and Architects
- well-versed with the onsite/offshore/near-onshore global delivery model of leading SAP vendors. I have worked in all these modes in SAP projects.
- international experience in a multicultural environment across 4 continents
- experience in training and mentoring other SAP resources. I conducted in-house SAP trainings at IBM for its SAP development teams and also prepared course ware for an internal training at Accenture. I also conducted several SAP Academy trainings for SAP in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, India, South Africa and Turkey
Q4: Use 5 words to describe yourself - keep it clean :-)
Patient, skilled, persevering, adaptable, motivated
Q5: What motivates you to excel at work?
- meet client demands and improve self learning by working on latest versions of SAP NetWeaver technologies
- contribute and provide strategic direction to SAP/IT goals of the client
- interact and learn from other SAP professionals by working in international SAP projects
- opportunity to learn new SAP technologies
